8 session Parent DBT Group

 

This Adolescent DBT Skills Training Group is for teens between the ages of 14 and 18 who experience ongoing emotional difficulties and are ready to learn and practice new coping skills. Primary goals of the group are to decrease self-destructive behaviors, increase effective coping, and create a sense of

behavioral and emotional stability for the adolescent and his/her family.

 

Core topics include emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress

tolerance, reducing impulsivity, goal setting, mindfulness, learning to identify emotions, and walking the middle path between parents and teens.

 

This is a closed group that begins every seven to ten weeks. A parent/guardian is required to attend the parent group.
